I just love the Fall, don’t you?
It’s one of my favorite times of the year. The angle of the sun, the smell of the leaves, and the bite of the the autumn air remind me that winter is coming and to enjoy the crisp weather before the onset of storm season here in Hawai‘i.
So, just as nature gets ready for the colder months, you too should prepare for the drier season of winter as well.
Hair and skin can suffer greatly in the months to come, but it doesn’t need to.
Follow our 5 step guide to having a healthy skin this winter season.
Fall Skin Routine
Now is the time to get a professional regenerating peel. From plant-based enzymes to alpha hydroxyl acids, peels help keep the skin clear and receptive to treatments and moisturizers during dry winter months.
2. Change is good
Switch up your product routine. Consult with your esthetician about your home care routine. Be sure you have an adequate moisturizing product . Also consider reducing the application of any products with a drying effect.
3. Sleep on it
I love using a moisturizing mask over night. It’s an easy way to achieve big time suppleness with little effort. Be sure to apply the mask to a clean and damp face. Aloe-based masks work best because they will not dry out. Protective towel on your pillow – a must.
4. Got milk?
Contrary to popular belief, milky cleaners clean the skin just as well as foaming ones. In fact, milky cleaners often work much better at breaking down and removing makeup. The difference is that milky cleaners keep the pH of the skin intact, keeping the body’s natural moisture in, while removing impurities.
Apply face and body products immediately after bathing to retain as much water in the skin as possible.
